# ProtoSpark — Free Coding Camp for Kids Worldwide

**Free virtual coding camp · Ages 6–11 · 100% free · Open worldwide · No experience needed**

ProtoSpark is a free, student-led nonprofit organization teaching children ages 6–11 to code through live virtual Scratch programming camps. Founded by high school students in 2024, ProtoSpark has taught 300+ students across multiple countries with 100+ hours of coding instruction — all at zero cost to families.

## What is ProtoSpark?

ProtoSpark is one of the only fully free, student-run coding nonprofits offering structured computer science curriculum to elementary and middle school children worldwide. We teach Scratch programming, block-based coding, and computational thinking through interactive live sessions and a final capstone project every student builds themselves.

No tuition. No fees. No prerequisites. Just coding.

## Mission

Code should have no borders. Every child — regardless of country, language, or socioeconomic background — deserves access to quality computer science education. ProtoSpark organizes country-based chapters led by local volunteers who bridge language and time-zone gaps to bring free coding education to underserved communities globally.
