Help us bring free coding education to children around the world. Lead a chapter, teach sessions, translate curriculum, or support global operations. Every role matters and every person helps.
Apply to Volunteer →ProtoSpark scales internationally through a chapter system — one chapter per country, each led by a local Chapter Leader who bridges language, time zone, and cultural gaps.
A volunteer in each country runs their chapter, recruits local students, and coordinates with the global team on scheduling.
Chapter leaders translate instructions and check-ins into their local language. Core curriculum materials are translated before camp begins.
Sessions are recorded and posted for asynchronous viewing. Live sessions are scheduled to accommodate the most students; chapter leaders run supplemental local sessions where needed.
All chapters coordinate via shared tools (Discord, Google Workspace). Standups twice a week keep the global team aligned.
Leadership roles are open to teens and young adults worldwide.

Not at all. A willingness to learn is more important than prior experience. We provide training on the curriculum and Scratch before the camp starts — you'll feel fully prepared.
It depends on your role. Instructors commit to the 5-day camp window (Aug 3–7). Chapter leaders have slightly more involvement — coordinating students in their region and communicating with the global team via Slack. We're flexible and work around your schedule.
A Chapter Leader runs ProtoSpark's presence in their country. They recruit local students, bridge language gaps, and coordinate with the global team through our Slack workspace. Each country has one chapter, and we're actively growing our network.
English is our working language for the global team. Chapter leaders and volunteers need to be comfortable in English, though bilingualism is a huge asset — it lets you support students who don't speak English.
Yes — all volunteers receive a letter confirming their role and hours of service with ProtoSpark, a student-led organization. This is great for college applications, resumes, and community service records.
Absolutely — that's the whole point. ProtoSpark is a global organization. Volunteers from every country are welcome, and international volunteers are especially valuable as chapter leaders.
